CUT AND SHUTS

 | | | | |
The Dangers
The cars that result from this illegal practice are almost invariably far from roadworthy and can cause horrific injuries when involved in a crash.
Car companies spend vast amounts of money testing their vehicles so that passengers are protected in a crash. Cut and shuts, on the other hand, have very limited structural strength and will literally break apart in any kind of collision.
More than 30,000 cut and shut cars are on the UK's roads. Their occupants are unlikely to survive if the car is involved in a crash, even if they occur at speeds as low as 30mph.
